Obituary of James Tay

James Tay, 59

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic death of an admired and loved University of Warwick alumnus.
James Tay passed away on 15 July 2017 following an accident in Dubrovnik. James was enjoying a family holiday in Croatia prior to attending his son, Justin’s, graduation ceremony at the University of Warwick. He was a devoted father and immensely proud that his children graduated from his alma mater.
He is mourned by his family; wife, Pauline Tse, son, Justin, daughter, Elaine and her husband, Ryan Leung. His loss will be felt by his family and his many friends and colleagues.
James was awarded an MSc in 1999 by the University of Warwick. He took part in the acclaimed Integrated Graduate Development Scheme, a joint programme between the University of Warwick and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and became the CEO of Logicalis Asia.
James will be greatly missed by the Warwick alumni community here in Hong Kong. He was a really good friend and keen supporter, attending many events. He financed postgraduate scholarships and sponsored the prize draw at our annual dinner every year.
A memorial mass will be held at St Margaret’s Church, 2A Broadwood Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong on 12 August at 10:00am.
James will be sorely missed and remembered fondly by everyone whose lives he touched.
