The second
Warwick Law networking
event in Hong Kong was
held on Sunday 15th
April 2007 with Dr.
William O¡¦Brian, who
teaches both
undergraduates &
postgraduates, and is
course director of the
Warwick LLM in
International Economic
Law programme.
The event was
jointly organized by
WGAHK and Warwick Hong
Kong Office.
Coincidentally, Dr
O¡¦Brian was the personal
tutor of WGAHK
Vice-Chairman Liam Lai (LLB
2001-04) who naturally
took up the important
role of event
coordinator.
It was a cozy
evening well-attended by
more than 20
participants. There were
graduates from every
decade from the 1980s to
2000s, and also some
current undergraduate
students who were back
to Hong Kong for Easter
holidays. An LLM
graduate from Guangzhou
even did a day trip to
Hong Kong just to join
the event! This just
illustrated the
ever-growing strong bond
between Hong Kong and
mainland China alumni
especially from
Guangdong.
Dr O¡¦Brian
shared with the
participants various
updates of the Warwick
Law School including the
launch of 2 new
programmes: LLM in
International Corporate
Governance & Financial
Regulation (from 2007)
and LLM in International
& Comparative Criminal
Justice (from 2008).
A number of
graduates who were not
in town on 15 April have
already asked about the
date of the next similar
event. Thanks for the
support! Please rest
assured that Warwick
Networking Events, in
Law and in other
specialized fields, are
becoming a regular WGAHK
function!
