活在中國以外 by Stanley Wong (MSc IT for Manufacture) 最近，我看過一輯關於姚明的專訪。平平無奇的訪問內容對我來說沒什麼關係，但這輯訪問卻給我帶來了一點的震撼！ 這陣子，我一直在尋找在英國或澳洲的工作及定居的機會，為了要在一些有「生活」的地方過活。在那個專訪中，一個在美國長大的中國女子用流利的英語一句一句的訪問著姚明，姚明以普通話回應著。 本來，這個是沒什麼特別。震撼的來源是來自他們身旁的一個美國人 – 女生跟姚明的翻譯員。鏡頭前的訪問員跟被訪者都是中國人，到底是什麼原因，要一個美國人來幹翻譯的工作？當時，我的腦海中突然浮現起在華威的一些生活片段 – 一位來自上海的朋友跟我說：「跟中國人(某些香港人)說英語真是不爽呀！」另一位北京人的話：為什麼香港人大多不懂說，也聽不懂普通話？ 要是我真的能夠到外國定居，我的孩子會不會要跟中國人用英語溝通呢？
