The idea of launching a WGAHK Scholarship Fund was brought up at the October 2001 WGAHK monthly happy hour gathering. When Mr Patrick Lai (MBA 1987-88) offered a prompt donation of HK$3,000, the casual discussion was transformed into a real ball rolling.

The WGAHK Scholarship Fund was established in 2002. It is the first Warwick scholarship established by local alumni outside the UK. The WGAHK Scholarship Founding Chairman is Miss Lisa Djeng (BSc Economics 1995-98), and subsequent Scholarship Chairmen include Miss Natalie Law (LLM International Economics Law 2000-01) and Dr Albert Yip (DLMBA 1990-95).

The following first year undergraduate students from Hong Kong have been awarded the WGAHK Scholarship since its launch:

When celebrating the 10th anniversary of WGAHK in 2004, an all time high record of scholarship fund had been raised. We hereby take this opportunity to thank all the donors and sponsors to our scholarship fund in the past 3 years.
